The Lebanon International Theater Festival for Women's Monodrama is annually held in March, concurrently with commemorating National Women’s Day. This festival tackles the aspects of equality, independence, social justice, and empowering women.
The first edition was held in 2019 at the Lebanese National Theater in Tyre, in a salute to the late actor and director Siham Nasser. It commemorated women and their artistic and theatric performances. Back then, eight theater performances from Arab and foreign countries participated, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture in Lebanon and Tyre Municipality. The first Lebanese theater seminar was conducted during this edition, which triggered the crisis of theater in Lebanon, the importance of cultural decentralization, the role of theater in reference to conciseness and change-making, and the situation of theater regarding scriptwriting, directing, acting, the relationship with the audience, the role of cultural institutes, and performing in cities other than the capital.
The festival featured a rich lineup of international performances, including "How Come You Are?" by Amal Al-Aouini from Tunisia, and "Without Meaning," directed by Manar Al-Zein and starring Wissam Osama from Egypt. Lebanese talent was represented by "Aldaka" by Fatima Diab, while Spain contributed with "Manifesto Bat" by Marin Tirapó Cuatuzia and "Dando El Cant," directed by Elisa Ninio and featuring Nerea Gomez. From Portugal, the festival showcased "Still on the Road," directed by Ana Palma and starring Maria Joao Vicente, and from Mexico, "The Fish Project" by Lucero Hernandez Arreuela rounded out the diverse array of theatrical presentations.

As for the second edition, it was held in 2021 and included the following honorees: Renée El Deek, Watfaa Hamadi, Fadwa Hashem, Randa Kaadi, and Bernadette Hodeib. Local, Arab, and foreign theater performances participated in this edition and competed for the on-site best actress, best script, best scenography and fashion design, best directing, and best artistic work. In addition to the aforementioned awards, is the jury’s award, which included the director Jana Al Hassan, the choreographer Dalal Bazzi, and the fashion designer Nour Al Nousli.
The third session of the festival, launched in 2023, took place in Tyre and Tripoli. This edition showcased plays from Spain, Portugal, Chile, Tunisia, Romania, South Africa, and Lebanon, all under the theme "Women: A Force for Change."
On this occasion, the festival management honored the Bandali artistic family during the Tripoli events and celebrated actress Julia Kassar during the Tyre events.
In the official competition of the festival, Portuguese actress Ana Palma received the award for Best Comprehensive Performance for her role in "Waiting for the Bird." Chilean actress Marisol Robertson and Romanian actress Silvia Relianu were both honored with the Best Actress award. Spanish actress Zelia Lanaspa won the award for Best Musical Performance, while Lebanese actress Maysan Sharaf El-Din was recognized with the Best Scenography Award for her dance performance.
The fourth session of the “Lebanese International Theater Festival for Women’s Monodrama” was held at the Free Lebanese National Theater in Tripoli, featuring performances from Algeria, Tunisia, the Emirates, and Lebanon. Under the theme “A Tribute to the Fighting Woman” and as part of Tripoli’s designation as the Capital of Arab Culture, the festival honored actress Ferial Karim, actress Mona Karim, and Khitam Al-Lahham.
The festival showcased a range of monodramas, including Biya from Tunisia by the Mediterranean Association for Arts and Cultural Tourism, written and directed by Saber Hemisi and starring Hasnaa Ghanem; Al-Alabfrom Algeria, written, performed, and directed by Kheira Bouatou; Al-Mutahada from Algeria, produced by the Bouderka Association for White Theater, directed by Qandi Ahmed Hisham and featuring Taheri Fatiha; Shirley Valentine from the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts in the Emirates, starring and directed by Alaa Hammad; and “The Wedding Party” from Lebanon and Palestine, performed by students of the Tiro Arts Workshop and starring Ola Sidawi.

يقام مهرجان لبنان المسرحي الدّوليّ لمونودراما المرأة سنويًّا في شهر آذار/مارس للاحتفاء باليوم العالميّ للمرأة من أجل المساواة والحريّة والعدالة الاجتماعيّة وتمكينها في المجتمع
انطلقت الدّورة الأولى للمهرجان عام ٢٠١٩ من المسرح الوطنيّ اللّبنانيّ في مدينة صور ووجّهت تحيّة الى الرّاحلة الممثّلة والمخرجة سهام ناصر. عُقدت هذه الدّورة للاحتفاء بالمرأة وعملها مسرحيًّا وفنيًّا وبمشاركة ثمانية عروض مسرحيّة من دول عربيّة وأجنبيّة بالتعاون مع وزارة الثّقافة اللّبنانيّة وبلديّة صور. كما وأقيم ضمن المهرجان مؤتمر لبنان المسرحيّ الأوّل الذي طرح مسألة أزمة المسرح في لبنان وأهمّيّة كسر المركزيّة الثقافيّة ودور المسرح في الوعي والتّغيير والبحث في وضع المسرح فيما يخصّ الكتابة والإخراج والتّمثيل والعلاقة مع الجمهور ودور المراكز الثّقافيّة والعروض خارج العاصمة
والعروض هي: «كيف أنك؟» لآمال العويني من تونس، و»بلا معنى» للمخرجة منار الزين وتمثيل وسام أسامة من مصر، ومسرحية «علدقة» لفاطمة دياب من لبنان، ومسرحية «مانيفستو بات» لمارين تيرابو كواتوزيا من إسبانيا ومسرحية «داندو آيل كانت» اخراج إليسا نينيو وتمثيل نيريا غوميز من إسبانيا، ومن البرتغال عرض «لا تزال على الطريق» اخراج أنا بالما وتمثيل ماريا جواو فيسينتي، ومن المكسيك عرض «مشروع السمكة» للوسيرو هيرناندز أريويلا.
وفازت مارين تيرابو كواتوزيا بجائزة أفضل ممثلة عن مسرحية “مانيفستو بات” من إسبانيا، كما فازت أنا بالما بجائزة أفضل إخراج عن مسرحية “لا تزال على الطريق” من البرتغال، وحصدت مسرحية “داندو آيل كانت” من إسبانيا جائزة أفضل نص، أما جائزة أفضل عمل متكامل فذهب لمسرحية “مشروع السمكة” من إخراج وتمثيل لوسيرو هيرناندز أويلا من المكسيك.
كما انطلقت الدّورة الثّانية عام ٢٠٢١ وشملت قائمة التّكريم كلّاً من: رينيه ديك ووطفاء حمادي وفدوى هاشم ورندة كعدي وبرناديت حديب. شارك حينها عروض مسرحيّة محليّة وعربيّة وأجنبيّة تنافست ضمن المسابقة الرسميّة للعروض المباشرة على جوائز أفضل ممثّلة وأفضل نص وأفضل سينوغرافيا وأزياء وأفضل إخراج وأفضل عمل متكامل، بالإضافة إلى جائزة لجنة التّحكيم المؤلّفة من المخرجة جنى الحسن والكوريغراف دلال بزي ومصممة الأزياء نور النوصلي
وانطلقت الدورة الثالثة عام 2023 في صور وطرابلس وعُرِضت في الدورة مسرحيات من إسبانيا، والبرتغال، وتشيلي، وتونس، ورومانيا، وجنوب أفريقيا، ولبنان، تحت شعار "المرأة قوة تغيير"
وفي هذه المناسبة، كرّمت إدارة المهرجان عائلة بندلي الفنية، ضمن الفعاليات في مدينة طرابلس، والممثلة جوليا قصار ضمن الفعاليات في مدينة صور
وفازت ضمن المسابقة الرسميّة للمهرجان الممثلة البرتغالية أنا بالما بجائزة أفضل عرض متكامل عن مسرحية "في انتظار العصفور" ونالت الممثلة ماريسول روبرتسون من تشيلي مناصفة مع الممثلة سيلفيا ريليانو من رومانيا بجائزة أفضل ممثلة ، وحصدت الممثلة زيليا لاناسبا من إسبانيا على جائزة أفضل عرض موسيقي ، ونالت الممثلة اللبنانية ميسان شرف الدين جائزة أفضل سينوغرافيا عن عرضها الراقص
أما الدورة الرابعة الدورة من «مهرجان لبنان المسرحي الدّوليّ لمونودراما المرأة» اقميت في «المسرح الوطنيّ اللّبنانيّ المجاني» في مدينة طرابلس، بمشاركة عروض من الجزائر وتونس والإمارات ولبنان، تحت شعار "تحية للمرأة المناضلة" وضمن فعاليات طرابلس عاصمة للثقافة العربية.وكرمت هذه الدورة من المهرجان الممثلة فريال كريم، وكرمت الممثلة منى كريم وختام اللحام، وشاركت في المهرجان مونودراما بيّة من تونس لجمعية المتوسط للفنون والسياحة الثقافية للكاتب والمخرج صابر هميسي وتمثيل حسناء غنام، ومونودراما علب من الجزائر نص وأداء وإخراج خيرة بوعتو، والمتشردة من الجزائر لجمعية بودرقة للمسرح البيّض إخراج قاندي أحمد هشام وتمثيل طاهري فتيحة، وشيرلي فالانتاين من أكاديمية الشارقة للفنون الأدائية بالإمارات تمثيل واخراج الاء حماد، وحفل الزفاف من لبنان وفلسطين لطلاب محترف تيرو للفنون تمثيل علا صيداوي
