The Lebanese International Theater Festival of Contemporary Dance aims to stabilize the theatrical movement by supporting youth troupes as well as local ones. This is in addition to supporting the university students’ projects, which are the main performances in the festival.
The first edition of the festival was held in 2019 at the Lebanese National Theater in Tripoli in collaboration with both the Ministry of Culture and that of Tourism, and Tyre Municipality. This was under the slogan “Dancing for Freedom,” in which dance troupes from Arab and European countries participated.
As for the second edition, it was held in 2021 and included online performances from 20 countries, which were Spain, Italy, the United States of America, Germany, China, Holland, Palestine, Armenia, Jordan, Canada, Morocco, and Belgium. The on-site performances were limited to the Lebanese performers from the Maya School of Arts, the Keffiyeh Dabkeh band, and Angie Istanbouli. The late actor, Houssam Abed AlHamid Tawfiq, from Egypt, and Noura Bakra, from the Palestinian Folkloric Band, were honored.
The third edition was held in 2023 under the slogan “World’s Cultures Dancing,” with participation from Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Ghana, Korea, and Indonesia.

يسعى مهرجان لبنان المسرّحيّ الدّوليّ للرّقص المعاصر إلى ترسيخ الحركة المسرحيّة في لبنان من خلال دعم الفرق الشّبابيّة وتلك المحليّة بالإضافة الى أعمال طلاب الجامعات التي يكون حضورها محور الفعاليّات
عقدت الدّورة الأولى للمهرجان عام ٢٠١٩ في المسرح الوطنيّ اللّبنانيّ في مدينة صور بالشراكة مع وزارتي الثّقافة والسّياحة اللّبنانيّة وبلديّة صور وذلك تحت شعار "نرقص من أجل الحريّة" بمشاركة فرق راقصة من دول عربيّة وأوروبيّة
كما انطلقت الدّورة الثّانية عام ٢٠٢١ التي شملت عروضًا عبر الانترنت من ٢٠ دولة منها: اسبانيا وايطاليا والولايات المتحدة وألمانيا والصّين وهولندا وفلسطين وأرمينيا والأردن وكندا والمغرب وبلجيكا. كما شارك في العروض المباشرة من لبنان فرقة مدرسة مايا للفنون وفرقة الكوفية للتراث الفلسطيني وإنجي إسطنبولي، في حين كرّم المهرجان الممثّل الراحل حسام عبد الحميد توفيق من مصر ونورا بكرا من فرقة الفنون الشعبية الفلسطيني
وانطلقت الدّورة الثّالثة عام ٢٠٢٣ تحت عنوان "نرقص بثقافات العالم" بمشاركة عروض من لبنان وفلسطين وسوريا وغانا وكوريا وإندونيسيا.
