The Tiro International Arts Festival, which is considered as a means of artistic, cinematic, theatric, and musical convergence for people, aims to have a cultural and artistic exchange by screening documentaries, drama, animation, and short films, as well as implementing artistic training workshops and seminars. It is worth noting that this festival’s main collaborative partner is the Swiss charitable organization, the DROSOS Foundation.
The festival’s first edition took place in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and that of Tourism, as well as Tyre Municipality, at the Lebanese National Theater in Tyre. Back then, theater performances from Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Algeria, Argentina, and Lebanon participated. As for the cinematic participation, the latter included 39 animations, fiction, documentary, and short films from 12 countries, including Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, India, and Oman.
In 2019, the second edition was implemented under the slogan "Art is the Change Maker". This hosted theater, cinema, and music performances from 12 Arab and European countries, including Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia, Latonia, Egypt, Jordan, Brazil, France, and others.
As for the third edition, it took place in 2020 under the slogan "Salute to the Late Ziad Abou Absi and Radwan Hamza" in the presence of their families. This edition included the screening of a documentary about Ziad and Radwan’s lives.
The fourth edition was held in 2021 under the slogan "Youth are the Change Makers," in which it honored the late artists Pierre Jamjian and Rifaat Tarabay. This event gathered cinematic and theatric performances from 17 countries, including France, Belgium, Germany, Tunisia, Iraq, Japan, Iran, the United Arab States, Libya, Italy, Spain, Korea, Greece, Syria, Brazil, Palestine, and Lebanon. This is in addition to the online screening of 12 theater performances in which Tunisia, India, Libya, Iran, Iraq, South Korea, Spain, and Italy took part.
The fifth edition was held in 2022 under the slogan "Art is a Means to Protest," in which six theater performances from Palestine, Mexico, Poland, Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt took part. The screening of 18 feature, documentary, and animation movies has also taken place, with participants from diverse countries, including Australia, Italy, Iraq, the United Kingdom, Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, Albania, Poland, Syria, and Lebanon. This edition has honored Nizar Mikati, Omar Mikati, Amal Ofeich, Hind Taher, and Ibrahim Maraachli.
In 2023, the sixth edition of the festival took place at the free Lebanese National Theater in Tyre under the slogan “Resistance through Words, Rythms, and Quills.” This included the participation of theatric, cinematic, and musical performances as well as artistic exhibitions from Lebanon and other countries onsite and online. It also honored the late artists Mohammad Shamil and Philippe Akiki, in addition to Wahid Jalal.

يهدف المهرجان الذي يعتبر تجمعاً فنّياً سينمائيّاً ومسرحيًّا وموسيقيًّا الى التّلاقي والتّبادل الثّقافي والفنّيّ من خلال عروض الأفلام الوثائقيّة والدراميّة والتّحريك والقصيرة والورش التدريبيّة الفنّيّة والنّدوات وذلك بالشّراكة مع مؤسسة دروسوس السُّويسريّة.
أقيمت الدّورة الأولى عام ٢٠١٨ بالشراكة مع وزارتي الثّقافة والسّيّاحة وبلديّة صور في المسرح الوطنيّ اللّبنانيّ في مدينة صور وشاركت حينها عروض مسرحيّة من الأردن وإيران والعراق والجزائر والأرجنتين ولبنان. أما العروض السّينمائيّة فشملت ٣٩ فيلماً قصيراً من ١٢ بلداً تتنوع بين الرّوائيّ والوثائقيّ والتّحريك من فلسطين ولبنان ومصر والهند وسلطنة عمان.
كما أقيمت الدّورة الثّانية عام ٢٠١٩ تحت شعار "الفنّ من أجل التغيير" والذي قدّم عروضاً مسرحيّة وسينمائيّة وموسيقيّة بمشاركة ١٢ دولة عربيّة وأجنبيّة من ضمنها العراق والمغرب وتونس وليتوانيا ومصر والأردن والبرازيل وفرنسا وغيرها.
انطلقت الدّورة الثّالثة عام٢٠٢٠ تحت شعار "تحيّة لروح الرّاحلين زياد أبو عبسي ورضوان حمزة" وذلك في حضور عائلة الرّاحلين. كما عُرض حينها فيلم وثائقيّ عن حياة أبو عبسي وحمزة.
وانطلقت الدّورة الرّابعة عام ٢٠٢١ تحت شعار "شباب التّغيير" وكرّمت الفنّان الرّاحل حسام الصّباح والفنّان الرّاحل بيار جاميجيان والفنّان رفعت طربيه. وقد شارك في المهرجان عروض مسرحيّة وسينمائيّة من ١٧ دولة هي فرنسا وبلجيكا وألمانيا وتونس والعراق واليابان وإيران والمملكة العربية السعودية وليبيا وإيطاليا وإسبانيا وكوريا واليونان وسوريا والبرازيل وفلسطين ولبنان. كما تم عرض ١٢ عملًا مسرحيًّا عبر الانترنت بمشاركة دول عدّة منها تونس والهند وليبيا وإيران والعراق وكوريا الجنوبية واسبانيا وإيطاليا.
كما أقيمت الدّورة الخامسة عام ٢٠٢٢ تحت شعار "الفنّ وسيلة للاحتجاج"، وذلك بمشاركة ستّة عروض مسرحيّة من فلسطين والمكسيك وبولندا والجزائر وتونس ومصر. كما تم عرض ثمانية عشر فيلمًا تنوعت بين الرّوائيّ والوثائقيّ والتّحريك وذلك من بلدان عدّة وهي أستراليا وإيطاليا والعراق والمملكة المتّحدة والمغرب وتونس وسلطنة عُمان وألبانيا وبولندا وسوريا ولبنان. وكرّمت هذه الدّورة الفنّانين: نزار ميقاتي وعمر ميقاتي وآمال عفيش وهند طاهر وإبراهيم مرعشلي.
أما الدّورة السّادسة من مهرجان تيرو الفنّيّ الدّوليّ فأقيمت عام ٢٠٢٣ في المسرح الوطنيّ اللّبناني المجاني في مدينة صور تحت شعار "المقاومة بالكلمة واللّحن والرّيشة" وبمشاركة عروض مسرحيّة وسينمائيّة وموسيقيّة ومعارض فنّيّة من لبنان والخارج حضوريًا وعبر الإنترنت. كما كرّمت هذه الدّورة الفنّانين الرّاحلين محمد شامل وفيليب عقيقي ووحيد جلال.
